Leber has announced the launch of its major product upgrade program, «Durability.» Its goal is to ensure that playgrounds remain in pristine condition not only immediately after installation, but also 10 years down the road. The project completely transforms the company’s approach to quality, shifting from reactive troubleshooting to proactive reliability engineering.

The project is built around a three-stage cycle. In the first stage, a dedicated monitoring team regularly inspects projects installed by the company over the past 15 years. Experts evaluate material wear resistance and how engineering solutions withstand long-term loads in real-world environments. In the second stage, based on inspection results, the team independently logs observations and areas for improvement. This internal feedback system enables targeted identification of potential improvement zones without waiting for customer complaints. In the final stage, the design engineering department promptly addresses these requests and upgrades components, with changes immediately integrated into production to completely eliminate such vulnerabilities in future product lines.

«We have reimagined our approach to quality, focusing on how our equipment performs in real-world conditions 10 years later. For our clients, this primarily translates to reduced maintenance costs. By studying global best practices and auditing our own legacy installations, Leber has shifted to preemptive engineering: now, any potential vulnerabilities in materials and joints are eliminated well before entering production,» comments Igor Shapovalov, Marketing Director at Leber.

Thanks to the initiative, dozens of modifications have already been integrated into standard product lines. To fully protect the timber, beam ends are now treated with a double layer of sealant, and the final coating has been upgraded to factory-tinted varnishes with fade-resistant pigments. In metalworking, nitrogen-assisted laser cutting for tubes and sheets was introduced, protecting part edges from oxidation. Stainless steel fabrication has been physically segregated from ferrous metals at the plant, completely eliminating rust staining caused by airborne iron dust. Additionally, engineers have completely replaced rope suspensions on swings with heavy-duty chains to prevent twisting and sheath degradation.

The large-scale upgrade under the «Durability» program is scheduled to span 18–24 months. The next crucial step will be launching a regular lifecycle testing system. Structural components of the equipment will undergo testing in specialized laboratories under extreme loads.

For end-to-end monitoring of these solutions' effectiveness, Leber is introducing new internal metrics. The primary financial quality indicator will be the warranty expense ratio, reflecting the exact share of service and maintenance costs relative to the company’s revenue. This metric will be analyzed across each product line, material type, and supplier, enabling decisions based strictly on objective, long-term reliability data.
