Description
The «Pendulum» is an interactive module for a children’s science playground that introduces kids to the concept of motion transfer using a Newton’s cradle. A row of identical spheres is suspended so that they touch one another. The user pulls back the outermost sphere and releases it; upon impact, the sphere at the opposite end swings outward and then returns, repeating the motion in reverse. The module visually demonstrates the transfer of energy and momentum during collisions. Children can observe the movement of the spheres, repeat the experiment, and compare the results when releasing the sphere from different heights. The oscillations gradually subside as some energy is lost to friction, air resistance, and the sound produced by the impacts. The «Pendulum» science module enhances the play area by offering the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of mechanics through hands-on experimentation.
