First Playground from the «Oil» Series in Neftyanikov Square, Tyumen

Client: Tyumen Agency for the Development of Creative Industries, Autonomous Nonprofit Organization.

Objective: To create a children’s playground as part of the phased redevelopment of Neftyanikov Square and continue the industrial theme of the site. The square commemorates the people whose work contributed to the development of the region’s oil and gas industry. The project needed to translate this connection into clear visual imagery and contemporary play scenarios.

Solution: The project features Leber’s new «Oil» series, developed in 2026. Its design draws on a black-and-yellow palette, metal structures and the silhouettes of oil production equipment. The centrepiece is the 6.8-metre-tall «Oil Platform» play structure with an enclosed spiral slide. The swing frame echoes the form of a pumpjack, while the surfacing graphics reinforce the industrial theme and tie the playground into a unified composition.

Result: The square now includes a themed play area that connects the renewed public space with the region’s oil and gas heritage. The project is the first urban installation of Leber’s «Oil» series.
